We’re into the heat of the summer in the northern hemisphere and that usually means we get into some great sales for all kinds of different flight sim content. IL-2 Sturmovik and DCS World series have both kicked off their sales season today just ahead of the big Steam sale which is set to begin tomorrow. Let’s have a look.

DCS World discounts

Kicking off with a characteristically epic trailer, DCS World’s summer sale is offering discounts on nearly every module in the series with 50% off most of the collection. Popular aircraft like the DCS: F/A-18C and F-16C are both getting knocked down to $47.99 USD, the DCS: F-14 Tomcat is coming in at $55.99 USD, and various warbirds like the DCS: Fw190A-8 and Spitfire IX are available for $24.99 USD. Helicopters such as the AH-64D, Mi-24P Hind and Ka-50 Black Shark 3 are also up for $34.99 USD.

Check out the DCS World e-Shop for the sale prices here. Look out for the modules to be in as part of the big Steam sale starting tomorrow too. The sale will last until July 13th on the e-Shop and until July 10th on Steam.

IL-2 series discounts

Launched at the same time, IL-2 series is also dropping some significant discounts with up to 75% off most of the product line. Most of the Great Battles series is available for $19.99 USD for the Premium editions and $12.49 USD for the Standard edition. Tank Crew and Battle of Normandy are up for $22.49 USD and Flying Circus volumes are up for anywhere between $39.99 USD and $19.99 USD. Collector Planes and Vehicles are also on sale with some being as cheap as $4.99 USD.

No word on when the sale will end but it will likely end around the same time as the DCS World sale. Look for Steam store to pick up similar discounts starting tomorrow.

  1. Debating the Mig-21. It’s the only one left that interests me. The cockpit graphics are kinda stinky but I have seen a few good mods that fix it up a bit. Other than that, just waiting for the C-130.

Oooh that’s an interesting one. If you feel like a challenge, the MiG-21 is very rewarding to fly. Hugh performing but you feel like you’re constantly on the edge of the envelope. Landing it is particularly tricky requiring a careful technique. Pretty good module despite its age.

    2. I’m looking forwards to the IAI Kfir – whenever it comes out is another question, but I am staying with my original bet – 2027.

Do you have the Mirage F1? That’ll certainly provide for a solid Mirage fix while you wait for the Kfir.
