A little bit of unexpected news as Just Flight have just revealed that they are going to bolster the available variants of the Avro RJ in Microsoft Flight Simulator by including the RJ QT Freighter variant into the collection. Work is also progressing on the 2024 native version of the aircraft. Here are the details!
Freighter RJ coming soon

Just Flight are preparing a significant update to their Avro RJ airliner released at the end of last year. The RJ is the modernized variant of the BAe 146 that the company has also previously modeled. The Avro RJ is currently available for MSFS 2020 and was made compatible with 2024 relatively quickly. Its now going to see 2024 native support coming soon.
Unexpectedly, Just Flight have decided to add the QT Freighter (the QT stands for Quiet Trader) into the mix.
One of the most significant additions is the RJ QT Freighter variant. We know some of you were disappointed by the absence of a freighter version when RJ Professional launched last November. Unlike the 146, a freighter variant of the RJ never entered service—though one was proposed by the manufacturer in 2016. While that design never left the drawing board, we’re thrilled to bring it to MSFS, complete with four liveries: prototype, FedEx, DHL, and TNT. This gives you the chance to operate the RJ on cargo missions around the world.
The addition is free to Avro RJ owners and helps bolster value for the product for those thinking about a purchase.
The announcement was made on the Just Flight Facebook page here.
Incidentally, I have been working on an Avro RJ full review but I will be holding off pending the arrival of this freighter version so I can work that into the review. Should be interesting!
