It’s that season again and lots of flight sim related sales are popping up. The DCS World Autumn Sale 2025 is the latest to arrive and with it comes the usual range of discounts across most of the back catalogue of aircraft, scenery and campaigns. We also have some notable DCS: MiG-29A Fulcrum updates that you might want to note. Let’s have a look!

Autumn sale is here

As is typical, DCS World’s autumn sale has started and there’s a huge range of items on sale. Some of the modules with 50% discounts include the A-10C II, AJS-37 Viggen, Fw190A-8, Spitfire Mark IX, DCS: Persian Gulf, plus a massive list of campaigns.

The DCS: F-16C, F/A-18C and DCS: Supercarrier are in the 40% category. In 30% you can find options like the DCS: F-14, DCS: JF-17 Thunder, DCS: Syria, DCS: Normandy 2.0 and another lengthy list of campaigns.

Even the DCS: F-4E Phantom is in on this with a 25% discount.

The big Steam sale is about to go live on the 29th of September and DCS World will be participating with that sale then as well.

MiG-29 updates

Mid week we saw the first update for DCS: MiG-29A Fulcrum following its initial launch. I’m midway through writing an early access review of the aircraft and I’m glad that I hadn’t jumped to get it out right away because many of these changes address the teething issues of the aircraft.

We now have a first iteration of the damage model, controls indicator overlay, autostop procedure joins the autostart procedure, HUD repeater export is available, and there are fixes for crashes, for the IFF system, and some updates to the radar target track system.

Eagle Dynamics also have some commentary that they want to point out to folks. A discussion on the SPO-15 RWR and how it works is posted as part of a thread here. It’s a very technical discussion but if you want to get into the weeds on how the SPO-15 does and sometimes doesn’t do its job… read that here. There’s also a usage guide for the new RSBN/PRMG ground units.

Not fixed is the autopilot oscillation bug. At higher speeds, around 600km/h, the aircraft will oscillate in a very unpleasant way when the autopilot hold system is engaged. Eagle Dynamics says that this is a priority for the team to tackle. Looking forward to that!

One response to “DCS autumn sale underway plus MiG-29 updates”

  1. I think the full fidelity MiG-29A will keep red fans happy for a few years to come, though I do hope they make a Su-25K full fidelity one day (the Su-25K was the export version of the initial production variant). It would complement the MiG-29 in battle rather nicely as a close air support aircraft.

Another aircraft I would like to see done is a full fidelity Su-24M which has been around since the 70s. They have been used heavily in the Russo-Ukrainian War by both combatants so they are still very much relevant to modern warfare. But I know that this is all wishful thinking as it costs an insane amount of money to make full fidelity modules ($1-2+ million I have heard). And getting the resources and documents in order to get a working module isn’t easy, especially if they are Russian or Chinese or Indian. But still, one day soon before we are all grey and old.
