Catching up on some recent (and not so recent) updates from IndiaFoxtEcho. The developer is working on both DCS projects (the G.91 and sustaining the MB.339) as well as working on a Eurofighter for MSFS, supporting the F-14 jointly with Heatblur and working on a follow-up F-16A project and there’s also the TA-4J and several other aircraft in the mix.

Eurofighter prepares for release, F-16A moves forward, TA-4J on hold

The team report that they are hoping to release Eurofighter in November. The project is their focus right now and they report that their tests are going well and that real world Eurofighter pilots have tried it out and are reportedly happy with it as well.

Meanwhile, the Heatblur/IndiaFoxtEcho F-16A project is moving forward on the art side of the project and they hope for a Q1 2026 release.

The TA-4J project on the other hand is reportedly on hold while they focus on the Eurofighter. They say they will resume on that one once Eurofighter is out.

G.91 and MB.339 for DCS continue to develop

IndiaFoxtEcho tend to provide more regular updates on their MSFS products, mostly because there’s something to report on, however, we do have a brief mention of the MB.339 and G.91 for DCS World. Its not much but they report substantial work has been done on the MB.339 behind the scenes which they say will help “realign the project maintenance to the new team organization.” Hopefully that means cleaning up of code and making it easier for long term stability for the product as DCS core keeps changing.

The G.91 is listed as moving forward. We know from other developers that MSFS development tends to happen rapidly while DCS development requires building most things from scratch and that takes time. Stay tuned for more on the G.91 soon hopefully.

Other recent updates

IndiaFoxtEcho have written other various updates that I’ve missed over the last few months. The F-14A for MSFS was, for example, updated in September to Version 1.1.10 with fixes to the aircraft model, radar, Jester AI, and adding new liveries.

The team reported in September as well that they’ve been testing compatibility between 2020 and 2024 variants of their aircraft. Some of the challenges are in the flight planner. I’d suggest going on their Facebook and looking it up if you’re looking for work arounds to the various issues. It sounds like they will continue to work on these compatibility issues in the long term.

Finally, a statement in the comments area was posted recently talking about the potential benefits of the new PlayStation 5 announcement.

For me, and for IFE in general, this is POTENTIALLY great news as the MSFS2020/2024 revenues are slowly decreasing (due to natural market saturation) and, while surely the PS5 means more work, it also means more players – and potentially more customers (“potentially” since we have no information on how the Marketplace and add-ons will work on PS5). High quality add-ons are very expensive and time-consuming… so having more customers means better Return on Investment, which allows us to spend more money in development.

Bring on new customers and new potential for developers like IndiaFoxtEcho!

  1. It’s kinda hard to get even remotely excited about anything DCS related after the leaked Zoom calls. It’s really odd how anyone can continue to support these douche-canoes. The fact that you’ve never addressed this is very disconcerting.

    1. interesting.

because what those videos showed me is that ED is all business and Razbam is run by an irresponsible cowboy.

I don’t like the situation because I’ll eventually lose access to every Razbam module they made, but that’s ultimately on Razbam for writing checks with his mouth that his behind can’t cover.

he was given a reasonable path forward, and he chose not to take it.

The most interesting thing about them for me was the different ways folks read into the conversation. Probably based on their own experiences.

There’s definitely a clash of philosophy in development on display. That’s probably the core of the difficulties in each side understanding each other and why things never got resolved.

      2. I agree because I have experience in game and software development. clients like ED can be demanding (and not really as patient as Nick seemed to be, honestly.) and more-so because i have NEVER heard of whatever Razbam claims was their ‘co-op development and profit-sharing’ arrangement that had them subcontracting talent without a paid salary or even retainer. That sounds to me like how you take advantage of young inexperienced resources. Thats just not a thing.

There is no way that RB would have done 5 consecutive module projects for ED and never been paid.. who starts new work without getting paid for past work? It sounds like BS fed to those talent who didnt get paid, “Oh i cant pay you now that i defaulted on our latest contractual agreement! oh of course, i never got a binding down-payment from the client… im so angry now too!”

because what those videos showed me is that ED is all business and Razbam is run by an irresponsible cowboy.

Can you explain why you believe this? In the video we see that that the CEO of EDMS (Paolo) states to a partner that the CEO of ED is in part talking nonsense, and that Paolo will sort something out with Razbam behind the back of Nick Grey.

Do you consider it to be ‘all business’ to go behind the back of a fellow manager, rather than work things out within the company and then have consistent communication with the partner?

he was given a reasonable path forward, and he chose not to take it.

Do you realize that Razbam did come to an agreement with ED, but that according to Razbam, ED made it impossible for Razbam to execute that agreement? The claim is that ED did not provide the escrow facility for the code.

If their narrative is true, then wasn’t it ED that chose not to take the reasonable path?

I’m not really sure where this idea comes from that Razbam was never paid at all for any DCS module? Razbam never claimed this and neither did ED, so where are you getting this belief from?

If Razbam has a contract similar to the one that was leaked, then ED has to pay within 30 days after the end of each quarter, for the sales during that quarter. Razbam has claimed that ED has at least once failed to pay in time in the past (also missing payments to Heatblur), but not that they never paid at all.

because i have NEVER heard of whatever Razbam claims was their ‘co-op development and profit-sharing’ arrangement […] Thats just not a thing.

Heatblur is using the same ‘co-op’ model for their development, according to Nick Grey in the video. So it appears to be a sensible enough arrangement that at least one other developer uses the same model.

It sounds like BS fed to those talent who didn’t get paid

Presumably, this setup means that if the developers do a good job with the module and it sells well, they get compensated very well, and not so much if the module doesn’t sell that well.

If you look at Ron’s statements, then he keeps stressing that Nick’s insistence of withholding payments for the DCS modules will harm his developers, who have nothing to do with the Super Tucano project, so it looks to me like he is trying to get his workers to be paid, and not to be punished for his own mistake. That seems what a good boss would do, so painting him as someone who abuses his workers seems very unfair to me.

I really get the impression that you already started off with the idea that Ron is the bad guy, and are interpreting everything in ways that support that narrative, and are even making stuff up to plug holes in your narrative.

Most of this was about MSFS but yes things are challenging in DCS World – again… or still.

I have partially written an editorial about that but I’m not happy with it. I’ve been pulling too much OT at work in real life. At some point I’ll have time to think about it more meaningfully. It’s easy to have an opinion but to put it down in a coherent way… that takes me time.

  2. Well, if the Typhoon is released in November, it will be a nice surprise. So far, no trailers, no startup/taxi/takeoff training videos… On the other hand, in Heatblur they don’t have Matt Wagner 🙂

  4. i know that many in the DCS community would like to see early variants of currently modeled a/c – ED seems to like to model the latest version they can get documentation for – but there seems to be a sizable population that prefers more cold war era

I would love to see them do some Cold War era products. Seems that the community and third parties are moving there but not the main developer. Yet anyways.

  5. Shamrock, the way in which you handle yourself as you navigate the waters of flight sim news, filled with the untethered mines of personal opinions, is nothing short of inspiring. You are truly a wonderful human and it really shows in your writing. We are really lucky to have you writing so much about our hobby. Some days it hits me more than others and this is one of those times when I just want to say a quick thanks for being who you are. Cheers.

Only the G.91 and MB.339 are DCS projects. I may need to spell that out a bit more.

No, the G.91 is in development currently. No ETA and it hasn’t been mentioned much so when they mentioned it and some core changes to the MB.339 in their update I was excited! 🙂
