Third party DCS World developer Aerges has always had the intention of developing Mirage F1 in four distinct variants from the most basic CE version through the more sophisticated EE and BE two-seat variant before ultimately delivering the F1M. The modernized version of the jet brings an MFD and some additional features to the aircraft. Today we got a tease of what is hopefully coming soon.

Cinematic teaser?

Aerges doesn’t tend to update all that often except when there’s something distinct to show off. That’s why a teaser like this has my interest piqued. A video, advertised through their Facebook page and created by collaborator Ismael Jorda, shows off multiple variants of the F1 in a series of quick beats before lingering briefly on the cockpit of the F1M… fully textured and in the sim.

We don’t know much else about what the company intends to do at the moment, however, we know that the F1M and a more sophisticated effort on the type’s radar are underway and have been for quite some time. This happening in parallel with development efforts on their DCS: F-104 Starfighter which is the next module they intend to release.

With Aerges showing this off now and taking into account past practices, I expect that we’ll start to see more of the F1M in the coming weeks or months.

  1. Hello, I bought a Mirage F1 before and I’m learning to fly it, currently I’m practicing landing and honestly it’s not easy. This is because I’m switching from a Hornet, where a computer works for the pilot. The analog cockpit forced me to study more about air navigation and the basics of flight physics, I really enjoy this module. I’m looking forward to the F1M variant.

  2. I don’t own this plane, never had a thing for Mirage fighters. But it seems to be very well put together and you definitely get your money’s worth. I have it coming around on the free trial in about two-weeks. Looking forward to trying it again.

  3. I enjoyed learning the F-1, what I enjoyed about it was it steam gauges and limited computers (its got a HUD though) – that was before the F-4 came along and since then I have stopped flying it – but its a great module.

The upgraded systems – been in the works for while and I know people have been looking forward to it but its meh for me, I like the older jets so whilst I will check it out, its not really what interested me with the F-1
