We’ve got some DCS status updates to report on with the DCS: F-15C Eagle full fidelity project plus some good news for model makers with Blender EDM file support and finally we now know a bit more about what Eagle Dynamics plans to do on the show floor for FSExpo 2026 this year. Let’s go!

Eagle status report

DCS: F-15C Eagle was revealed in the 2025 and Beyond video with an initial estimate of a launch in 2026. I don’t think anyone thinks that is still going to happen, however, it is good to see that things are progressing.

Design phase is reportedly complete and full development is underway. 3D modeling is the focus of this update with the team aiming to reach a new benchmark for detail. Photogrammetry combined with laser scanning is being used to get the exact shape of the aircraft.

Blender EDM support

Eagle Dynamics is reporting that they have a new Blender EDM Exporter. Blender has become a popular 3D modeling tool for quite a few developers so having a direct ability to export to a DCS World model system will surely make things easier.

This plugin allows 3D artists to export models directly to DCS EDM format, streamlining workflows and improving simulator integration. The update includes comprehensive documentation and an updated PDF tutorial to guide both new and experienced Blender users through the export process.

A GitHub repository and a YouTube video series is also intended to make the process easier. Open licensing on the plugin also invites community developers to contribute enhancements.

None of this directly affects us regular folks, but anything that makes developers lives easier is a net benefit for all. Good to see!

FSExpo representation

Eagle Dynamics is upping their game this year for FSExpo 2026 in Saint Paul, Minnesota with an expanded hands on experience. Two fully equipped DCS cockpits with WINCTRL and Tobii Eye Tracking will provide for an immersive experience they say. Heatblur Simulations is also going to be represented by the voice behind Jester, Grayson “Graywo1f” Frohberg. Neat!

Of course we already know that Grinnelli Designs is going to be there as well with their Combat Arena setup.

  1. I look forwards to the release of the F-15C. I hope one day there will be an F-15E by Eagle Dynamics too. But until then, I think I’ll have a lot of fun with the F-15C once I learn how to fly it.

  2. I skipped the Mig-29 because I already have the FC3 module – and the FF costs about $100Cdn – but even though I have the FC3 Eagle, I’m definitely getting the FF version.

    After all, it’s an F-15! 🙂

that’s definitely a lot of money!

however, the Full Fid version is definitely an excellent module and I haven’t once regretted getting it.

Main thing I like about it is how differently it operates vs all the western aircraft.

I’ll be pleasantly shocked if it ships this year – I’ll remain optimistic – without holding my breath 😁.

I’m hopeful it’s getting extra dev resources in light of the lost Strike Eagle 🙏

It’d be a huge shock to me if they managed to somehow ship to early access this year with the F-15C. I guess we’ll see!
