Dornier’s Do 228 turboprop utility aircraft is not the most beautiful aircraft but it does have a utilitarian look about it that makes it a classic in its niche. It’s the subject of Carenado’s next aircraft release. Let’s have a look!
Turboprop STOL power
Carenado first revealed the project in early June with a batch of screenshot showing off the exterior model. It is, as expected, up to usual Carenado standards with really impressive visual modeling, materials work and textures. We also get to see some colorful liveries.

The second batch of screenshots came out a couple of weeks ago and we get to see more liveries and there are interior shots as well. The cabin shot looks reasonably impressive but you really get a good look at the classic instruments on this aircraft together with what looks like a single GNS 530 for GPS navigation.

Carenado are typically quiet on exactly what the featureset will be until release but I’m expecting that this project will include the RealXperience featureset that includes engine vibration shake, enhanced prop rotation effect, and vibrating needles.
I expect we’ll be seeing a release on this project relatively soon. More to come from Carenado here.
