Following the release of the 1500R Sport, Emerald Scenery Designs has released their second aircraft for Microsoft Flight Simulator. The latest release is a Pietenpol Air Camper for MSFS 2024. Let’s have a look at it.

Fly the Pietenpol

A parasol wing homebuild aircraft, the Pietenpol Air Camper was designed by Bernie Pietenpol and first flew in 1928, and is the subject of Emerald Scenery Designs latest project. The project simulates an Continental A65 engine, has 14 liveries, native MSFS 2024 CFD flight model, has physics based fuel slosh and gravity reactive doors, and has optional realistic engine priming, over priming, and carb heat thermodynamic simulation, and water hydroplaning effects among other features.

The aircraft draws on experience and knowledge from the prior 1500R Sport and is a community driven project that saw members collect real A65 engine sound samples. It has also benefited from the development expertise of Mykrode from the Got Friends team (so if some of the featureset sounds a bit similar… you know why).

The aircraft has a free trial offer through the MSFS 2024 Marketplace, it supports the Rental program, and is available now from the Marketplace, Orbx and from Emerald Scenery Designs directly. You can purchase it for $19.99 USD.
