Earlier in the week, 1C Game Studios revealed that they would be eschewing with their usual Tuesday development blog while they prepare for a larger announcement coming next week. Get ready to speculate for the next few days while we wait for forthcoming news.

The future of the series?

Word from 1CGS is that they are preparing for major news to come next week. Here’s what community manager LukeFF wrote on Tuesday:

There will be no Dev Blog this week. But the reason is a good one: we are preparing major news for both Korea. IL-2 Series and Great Battles.

We will reveal the details next week. Stay tuned!

We know from previous reveals that the series is continuing with updates for both Great Battles and for Korea IL-2 Series.

Great Battles is expected to pick up career mode and other updates for Siege and Liberation – Odessa and Leningrad and see the first aircraft release for the Bomber DLC. Meanwhile, Korea IL-2 Series has five, yet to be revealed, aircraft promised as part of a DLC pack for the new sim. A tease at the end of a recent video has shown an Essex class carrier while an F4U Corsair and F9F Panther have been spotted in various other materials. That likely confirms two of the five with three still remaining.
