FlightSimStudio AG recently moved their E-Jets series out of early access and into full release status. That has not meant a stop in development as the developer has just released their first planned “service update” and has laid out a roadmap for more development. Let’s have a look!

Highlights of what has changed

New features in the just released version 1.1 Service Update includes new Direct-To functionality that adds vertical direct-to as well as the previously available horizontal direct-to. Underlying logic for step climbs has also been added and the autopilot can now calculate a VNAV engaged climb based on the steps.

The EFB gains takeoff and landing performance calculator and Runway Awareness and Advisory System (RAAS) feature. A new NAV / FIX INFO page has been added to the FMC letting you define reference points and visualize radial and distance intersections.

Also included in the update are BeyondATC and SayIntentions integration, improved sounds, and improved engine temperature simulation.

Coming up next

FSS have released their plans for the next steps in the E-Jets project. A fully native MSFS 2024 version of all E-Jets is planned for December and intended to come before Christmas. It’s a target date rather than a promise according to the update so expect that this could slip some. Service Update 2 is planned for sometime in Q1 (January to the end of March) and is expected to include autoland, enhanced weather radar, and a new EFB UI.
