Heatblur teases new VKB stick

Third party DCS contributor Heatblur is working hard on their F-14A/B Tomcat module for DCS World and it looks like they have been busy working on a hardware partnership too.

The Phoenix?

The image is named simply Phoenix.jpg which could be the name or codename for the project or it could have been chosen to keep us guessing. What it does appear to be when you brighten the image is a replica stick from the F-14. Yep!

A VKB-Sim grip?

The similarities to the artwork that Heatblur recently released on their Facebook page featuring the stick from the F-14 are striking. Everything from the overall shape to the chunky trigger appear to be mimicking the stick.

Likely VKB-Sim will be selling this as another “grip” that can be attached to the Gladiator Pro and Gunfighter series (along with the Thrustmaster Warthog and Cougar bases) the way that their MCG grip (releasing this November) is supposed to work.

VKB’s previous sticks have focused on the KG12 German style grip from World War II and their modern (MCG) grip was inspired by the Sukhoi Su-27 Flanker series of aircraft. This new teased at grip, if that’s what it is, would provide US flight sim fans with a very authentic experience for the F-14.

More as it develops!
