The first annual Flight-Sim Expo is happening this weekend in Las Vegas and Jason Williams from the IL-2: Great Battles Series will be there complete with a booth dedicated to the IL-2: Great Battles Series. Although the expo will likely be dominated by the likes of P3D, FSX and X-Plane, IL-2 will also be there as the only combat flight sim at the expo.

A cool setup

Jason has been busy, in addition to moving to the Las Vegas area, getting together some materials for the booths including these really cool desk setups. Controls are being provided by VIRPIL, GVL Custom Throttles, MFG Simundza, and RapidX.

Of special note, Jason says that VIRPIL has provided the Mongoose T-50 and the WarBRD which we haven’t seen very much of yet.

Check out the update from Jason right here.

If you’re in the Las Vegas area or are making the trip down to attend, I’d love to hear from you about your experiences. Share with us in the comments if you get a chance.

I get the sense we won’t necessarily see anything from Jason at the expo but I am hopeful for a dev update on the upcoming June patch.

GVL Custom Throttles. I don’t think they have a webstore and I have no idea how you get one but I would assume you can contact the fellow who makes them. Start with this thread on SimHQ perhaps? http://simhq.com/forum/ubbthreads.php/topics/4363160/selling-throttle-gvl224-rud-3-3#Post4363160

  3. Thanks for the heads up Shamrock!

Looks like a great throttle, especially for WWII era. GVL apparently makes a variety of them. Check out his video & open his comments – there is an English translation. About $275 + shipping.
