Earlier today, Jason Williams, IL-2’s Lead Producer, presented a Post Mortem on the Las Vegas Flight Sim Expo that happened this past weekend. In it are pictures from the IL-2 booth and thoughts on how things went. It’s worth the read.
Getting visibility out there for IL-2
It’s been a good year for the IL-2 series as it becomes increasingly well recognized by flight simmers around the world as a top tier flight simulator and probably the best (and certainly most cohesive) World War II era flight sim around.
Not everyone knows about it, despite its growing reputation, and an expo like the one just held in Las Vegas that caters to a wide variety of flight sim fans is going to hopefully get a few new eyeballs on what IL-2 can do. Jason seemed to think that it went well:
Just wanted to say that the FS Expo 2018 was an interesting and fun event. Not the largest on the planet, but pretty interesting for simmers. Our Sturmovik display really was a highlight of the show and many attendees indicated to me that it was their favorite. Many attendees also came back around multiple times to play IL-2 and for those that were unfamiliar with IL-2 got to see it in all it’s glory across three large screens using some awesome gear. Nothing but positive comments. There were people waiting to fly because of full stations the entire time.
This is good news for the series and will hopefully see the potential for some more enthusiasts to join in the fray.
