Baltic Dragon’s hard work on RAZBAM’s DCS: MiG-19 first training video, is on full display today with the DCS: MiG-19P cockpit familiarization video.

Learning all of the displays, switches, buttons and controls in an aircraft cockpit is essential for real and virtual pilots but it is typically a dry exercise. Baltic Dragon and RAZBAM have done their best to make this a little more….thematic, even if the subject matter remains dry. This is thanks to some good writing and scripting and an English language voice over with a reasonably decent Russian accent.

I don’t understand why people complain about the accent. If fits the aircraft and I’d prefer that to a full russian speech with subs.

Great job fom Baltic Dragon as always. I’m looking forward to play the harrier training missions.

  I don’t see either why anyone would complain, the accent sounds perfect (I just love it!), and the English is perfectly understandable. The mission seems well done enough, having a separate cockpit familiarisation (or “familisation”, as our Russian friend says :D) is a good idea, it shows everything and doesn’t try to mix that with a cold start mission.
  
  I would perhaps get rid of all those space pauses (and I hope the beeps are only for the video! They are utterly irritating).
  
  I’m not a specialist, but if I understand well and by looking that up, it’s a regular -P all-weather interceptor model, not an early production. Those came with the NR-30 and only 70 rounds, which is probably not much, but very punchy!
  
  It must have been a laborious task for Razbam to gather the exact specifications, by browsing Yefim Gordon’s “Mikoyan MiG-19” book, I see there are more than 100 pages on the different soviet variants, and that’s not even including the exported versions! Those specifications varied with time, too.
