I’m trying a new type of video series on my YouTube channel called the “Stormbird Quick Takes” where I capture a short clip of gameplay from a recent flight in DCS, IL-2 or any other sim I might be checking out and put that together into a very short cinematic. I’ve got two clips to share and I thought I’d write a bit about each.

Teamplay and firsts

The first two videos cover a couple of very different types of IL-2 flying. The first one is a team strike mission on the Combat Box server. I ended up not needing to do anything as the other two A-20’s in my group were so efficient that they each took out two ships all in one pass. It looked incredibly cinematic so I wanted to share that.

The second video is a first for me. I haven’t shot down a Me262 online yet and my fighter versus fighter skills have not been where the used to be for a long time. I was absolutely pumped when I managed to bounce this Me262 completely unaware.

An experiment in video

These two videos are a kind of experiment for me. I love to do video and I love to spend time putting together complicated cinematics. Those videos can take many hours of effort to capture and edit and so I wanted to do something a little different. These are meant to be exciting, quick, and to the point.

Let me know what you think of them and if they are enjoyable or really just too short.

I hope you enjoyed them either way!

lol that A-20 strike is one of the highlights of my IL-2 career. What a rush! Also, now that we know there are also dugouts to satisfy the mission objective we will have use for all 3 pilots 😉
