It’s not often we get a fast jet based movie to go and see in theaters so when there is one on the horizon I get excited to see how it progresses and if it will end up being an enjoyable piece of Hollywood film making. The second trailer for the movie came out just this morning!

Fast jet action aplenty

Trailer two features much of the same imagery as the first one albeit with some different scenes and a few new actors entered into the mix. We get a better look at the new pilots that Maverick will be training as well as hints at some of the combat sequences and one brief glimpse of the experimental aircraft that Maverick will be flying that was hinted at in the first trailer.

Also featuring in the trailer are plenty of F/A-18 Super Hornet and even a P-51D Mustang (likely Tom Cruise’s personal aircraft) making their way into the movie. Not to mention that F-14 at the start of the trailer.

Absent from all of this is anything beyond a few hints at the plot. Though it does appear that there will be some sort of combat sequences as we see a Hornet dumping flares and trying to avoid the blast of a missile – obviously its not all training and test piloting.

I’m cautiously optimistic that this will be a fun fast jet romp shot with all of the latest modern technology. Hopefully it does it’s best to stay in the realm of plausible without going too far to appeal to the action oriented audiences. Stay tuned for more and look out for June 26 when the movie releases!
