Showing off their latest ‘pictures from the workshop’, TrueGrit Virtual Technologies is showing off their latest efforts on their DCS World third party aircraft, the DCS: Typhoon! Let’s have a quick look.
Three new images out
The three new images focus on different details that are under construction right now. The cockpit is untextured (we’ve seen textured before) but it does show the various components starting to fit together. The HOTAS, stick, and much of the front panel are finished.
The second image, a detail shot from the cockpit, shows off the insertable data catridge. Those have been a huge help on the JF-17 and AJS-37 in DCS World so having cartridge functionality sounds great. Finally we get a look at the modeling details for the landing gear which are impressively detailed.
Meanwhile, some images that I missed earlier in May were showing off the Typhoon firing Meteor missiles. Not confirmed and not necessarily expected given the earlier variant that TrueGrit has stated they are building, Meteor missiles suggest a later version may yet be planned or at least a potential possibility.
This project is still in the early stages so take everything you see with just a grain of salt right now. We’ll see how this progresses as the project moves further along.

EF2000 was one of my favs sims. Hope this version of the plane will have some good A/G options.

If its an early version, don’t get your hopes up too high. Those were pretty much dedicated A2A machines.

For sure. If it’s the early tranche we’ll likely see laser guided bomb capability with buddy lasing and little else for ground attack.

Looks great. This module was a complete surprise when first announced and the dev team is certainly qualified.

They are definitely qualified! I’m looking forward to seeing what they can do. It’s still early days.

The Meteor pic shows an RAF No. 11 Sqdn FGR4 – a late Tr. 2 model. Maybe in the long term we might get it, but I doubt it will feature in the first release or anything soon thereafter.

So far they’ve only confirmed the earlier version but then they started showing off the RAF version with PIRATE so it’ll be interesting to see how they evolve this.

That would provide the austere A2G which the early Herman ones I think still lack
