1CGS hard efforts on the Hurricane Mark II are finally taking their final shape as the Collector Plane nears release. Jason Williams has already told us that it’s expected to arrive in October and this week’s latest developer diary helps reinforce how much progress has been made. Let’s have a look!

Eight screenshots and a brief status update

According to Han’s developer diary update, the Hurricane Mark II is nearly ready to go and is entering the final stage. Cockpit texturing and flight model work are both underway and all of the various versions of the aircraft are nearly ready to go.

As a reminder, we’re getting the Mark IIA, B, C, D and the Russian field modification version of the Hurricane II. Each has a unique collection of armament options including the four 20mm Hispano cannon armed IIC and the 40mm Vickers S anti-tank gun armed IID. The Russian field modification also offers up an interesting mix of a pair of ShVAK 20mm and UBK 12.7mm guns. The Hurricane will also arrive with a planned for expansion of the Moscow and Stalingrad campaigns where the type was used.

The rest of this week’s update includes plenty of screenshots and here they are!

  2. Now this is a hot item. Not sure any plane has been this anticipated in a long while. And very cool that we get several versions. Especially 12 x .303.

This is where IL2 really shines; offering up a classic, beautifully made I’m sure, and for a very reasonable price. This plane is going to be fun!

  3. The screenshots look awesome. It’s really a plane I’m looking forward to fly and only thinking about all the subvariants makes this a true piece of art showing the possible diversity that a collector plane can have.
Alongside with SW Squadrons my highlight for the next month 😀

  4. Such a beautifully designed aircraft. I will definitely add it to my collection. Know i dream for a Yak 3.

  5. You mention that we’re getting four versions of this plane. Is that like getting all the Yak variants at once? Or more like getting a P47 with a large number of armament options? Really excited either way! Been a while since we got something completely new.

    1. More like the P-47. The Yak’s are all different designs with subtle or not so subtle changes. This by comparison is the same aircraft all around except for what has been placed inside (or under) the wing.
