There’s tons of aircraft announcements and updates happening all of the time for Microsoft Flight Simulator. More than I can keep up with, however, here are some that caught my eye recently including news about a DC-3, Twin Otter and an ultra modern Airbus A220. Let’s have a look!
DC-3 by Aeroplane Heaven
Aeroplane Heaven has recently shown off their work on the Spitfire Mark Ia and now they are revealing more about their DC-3 project. The DC-3 is an incredible aircraft that spans more than 80 years of aviation history and is still in use in some remote regions. It’s a workhorse and a warbird and I’m very hopeful on having a fun experience with this aircraft in Microsoft Flight Simulator.
Aeroplane Heaven haven’t said much about their project but they are showing off some stunning shots both inside and out in the last few days. Have a look!

Twin Otter by Aerosoft
Microsoft and Aerosoft have partnered closely to work on new products for the sim and Aerosoft has a close relationship with Asobo Studios as a result. That gives me a lot of hope for some quality modules from the team including their CRJ which should be coming sometime over the next several weeks assuming its still on course. Meanwhile, the DHC-6 Twin Otter is coming to the sim thanks to the Aerosoft team. Not a new announcement but one that has recently released some screenshots showing off detail inside and out by the dev team. This STOL utility aircraft might be very interesting to fly in and out of some smaller airports.

Airbus A220 by Whiskey Jet Simulations
The brand new Airbus 220 is coming to Microsoft Flight Simulator. The aircraft started life as the C-series by Bombardier before a deal was worked out for Airbus to manufacture the aircraft. The airliner is smaller than the A320 and slots in a unique in-between class. New to the market in just the last few years, several operators are already flying them.
Whiskey Jet appears to be fairly early into the process of building the jet for MSFS and is working on the exterior model and animations. Later they are planning to focus on the interior and the systems management. These latest images are mostly focused on the model at night but one shot on their Facebook page shows off the aircraft’s exterior in the day and still more show off a work in progress cockpit. The cockpit is probably the least far along from what I can see so hopefully we’ll see them come back to that later.
They have also recently announced that they been accepted in the partner program so the aircraft will eventually be released in the marketplace. More here from Whiskey Jet Simulations.
