Just Flight releases PA-28-161 Warrior II for MSFS

Piper aircraft fans will want to take note as Just Flight have released their third Piper PA-28 variant for Microsoft Flight Simulator. This time it’s the PA-28-161 Warrior II and it is out now!

Warrior II time

Just Flight have already released the PA-28R Arrow III and PA-28R Turbo Arrow III/IV for Microsoft Flight Simulator. They are detailed simulations of each of those aircraft and are based on real world models which help the developers get all of the little details such as realistic wear and tear just right. Just Flight have apparently done the same with their latest release in the form of the Warrior II.

Here’s part of Just Flight’s description of the aircraft:

The PA-28-161 Warrior II is a four-seater, piston-engine aircraft equipped with a fixed tricycle landing gear, 160hp four-cylinder engine and fixed-pitch propeller – an ideal aircraft for touring and flight training.

Notably, this version has fixed landing gear and no turbo on the engine so it will be the slowest and “least advanced” version of the aircraft they have released yet. A slightly more historical option although one that is still very much in use at flight schools and in private operation today.

    The “slightly more historical” part is the Warrior II part… This is an aircraft that was far from new when I learned to fly, decades ago but, yes, it’s the equivalent of a C172P/R, Smaller than the 236, requiring a lot fewer “complex” rating additions than the 236 and similar. Don’t be nasty to the 161. It does its job perfectly well 😉

      Haha, yes, I say that with plenty of respect to historical aircraft including the many that continue to provide service even today!

      Also it seems that quite a few people have Warrior II experience so I can see this being popular.

    Though this is the one I earned my wings in, I’m gonna stick with the Turbo. I just like flicking that Gear lever up too much 😉

    I’m sure like many, I learned to fly in one of these. Did about 50hrs of cross country alone building time so I could do my instrument training. People at various airports would always ask me if it had retractable gear, I had to tell them no, it just didn’t have wheel pants lol Ours was the even more basic “Cadet” model, it lacked the windows over the baggage area and had no baggage door. Rear seat was optional too, although ours did have that one luxury.
