DCS: F-16C CBU-105 WCMD tutorial video out

A new weapon option is coming very soon to the DCS: F-16C. This time it’s the CBU-105 WCMD (or Wind Corrected Munitions Dispenser). As usual, Matt Wagner has a new video for us on how to make use of the new system. Let’s have a look!

Smart cluster munition

The CBU-105 WCMD is canister weapon with some stand-off capability. Each canister has ten BLU-108 sub-munitions and each sub-munition has four skeets that then seek out nearby targets and fire an explosive penetrator.

It’s basically a CBU-97 but with a standoff capability which increases its usefulness in complex scenarios.

    Good times with fancy explosives. The “coming very soon” part sounds good too because it means we might get some news on other hopefully-coming-soon things.

    A Mosquito for one. And news on the BS3 would be great.

      Hopefully! We’re seeing the F-16’s development accelerate again finally. Hopefully some other stuff has “become unstuck” too 🙂

    this is a terrifying weapon! both the intro and outro really demonstrate how it can tackle even semi-dispersed vehicles with precision. And even berms or revetments provide no protection 😮

    Glad to see Falcon getting attention!

    Too bad this won’t be coming to Hornet 😦
