A couple of pieces of news coming out of RAZBAM over the last few days. We’ve got a new training video talking about the PACS system for the F-15E. There’s also a new in-development shot of the RAZBAM MiG-23MLA.
Strike Eagle updates
The first update is that we have a new training video. This is a 16 minute tutorial that covers the PACS or programmable armament control system for the F-15E. In goes in-depth on how the system works, which weapons can talk to it and which weapons need to be configured either as part of a data cartridge or manually.
There’s also a short clip from RAZBAM CEO Ron Zambrano showing off the MPCD screen brightness and contrast controls.
MiG-23MLA update
A work in progress shot of the MiG-23MLA has emerged. This image was released by Ron Zambrano on Twitter and it shows the MiG-23MLA with the 3D model and textures. This is the first time, in my memory, that we’ve seen the MiG-23MLA look like this and show what appears to be an in-engine shot.
This project clearly has some way to go but its a surefire sign that it’s beginning the process of being integrated into DCS.
Looking forward to seeing what the F-15 can carry. Could be quite the bomb truck. Might be my new favourite plane on day one. The F-16 and F-18 gonna get dusty in the hangar.

If you look closely (ie use the pause function to check ’em out) you can see the options as they stand now when the dude is paging through them. Of course it’s WiP and subject to change and yada yada but there you have it. I spotted AGM-130 and GBU-15 in there, fun times!

2 things.
1) I wish the Harrier MPCD was as clear and legible as the F15E
2) Maps on the MPCDs would be useful if ED actually provided maps for all scales available on the screens. How many times, helicopters especially, do you find a blank map page. Gahh! XD

Oh that first one we are supposed to see an update. RAZBAM quite a while ago detailed an effort to redo their Harrier display techniques using what was learned with the F-15. It doesn’t appear to be coming quickly but hopefully it comes eventually!
And yep, map zoom levels would be useful!

Well you should also see the other side of the moving map argument and i guess almost every VR Pilot turns it off at each startup. No matter the aircraft, because it makes reading the OSB Texts next to impossible. Plus it adds not so much in terms of SA. A black hsd usually offers all the information you need anyways. So i guess they treat the whole thing more like a gimmick and dont allocate too much developent efforts into it 😉

After months of silence, Razbam has been dropping new images of the mig 23 a few times these past few weeks. That project is definitely picking up steam.
