Benchmark Simulations, a community driven development team and caretakers of the Falcon 4.0 legacy, have just dropped a new trailer for Falcon BMS version 4.37 which shows off some key new features for the sim including VR support. It also features a roadmap for future development.
VR ready
To be a modern flight simulator in 2022, you pretty much need to offer VR support to ensure that you’re up with the latest technology offerings. Falcon BMS has lacked that feature until now with Falcon BMS 4.37 bringing in full VR support to the sim.
It’s one of several features that the new 4.37 trailer mentions alongside a UI revamp, an ECM update, CATM simulation fire, mirrors in the cockpit, and the other big reveal which is efforts to bring a fully modelled F-15C to the sim.
Then a roadmap flashes on the screen with F-15C, new terrain engine, and physically based rendering being listed (in that order) as coming in 2023 and beyond.
It sounds like Benchmark Simulations have no plans to slow down and are continuing to offer enhancements, new features, and in this case new complete aircraft to the sim in the coming years ensuring that the Falcon 4.0 legacy continues on well into the mid 2020s.
