DCS World single player fans have some new campaigns to look forward to with both Reflected Simulations and Baltic Dragon teasing new content. We have The Gamblers for F-16C which has a teaser trailer and Speed & Angels for the F-14. Let’s have a look!
Speed & Angels
Already in the pipline for the immediate future, Reflected Simulations Speed & Angels campaign for the F-14 Tomcat. Utilizing the Nevada map, Superarrier, and Heatblur’s excellent F-14 Tomcat, this campaign takes on more of a training focus with your flying skills being challenged. Some combat scenarios at the end of the campaign lets you put it to good use.
Here’s what was said.
Let the countdown begin! Speed & Angels is coming with the next open beta update. Until then, take advantage of the current Lunar sale to get all the modules required to play it: F-14, Nevada, Supercarrier. You can also use this opportunity to get the Mosquito, the Channel map and the WW2 Assets for my Mosquito campaign that will follow shortly after.
Reflected Simulations
Naturally, the word that Reflected’s Mosquito campaign is also making good progress is encouraging too.
There’s a video that covers the campaign structure in detail.
And another video, coming out late in 2022 by Red Kite, also shows off the first mission in detail.
The Gamblers
F-16C flyers have been waiting for a moment like this. The Gamblers, by Baltic Dragon, is on its way towards release and it looks to be offering another campaign dripping with authenticity. The campaign was produced together with John ‘Rain’ Waters, host of the The Afterburn Podcast, and are based on his experiences during the deployment to Syria in 2014-2015.
This campaign won’t be coming as soon as Reflected’s Speed & Angels but it looks like it’s making great progress.
Speed and Angels sounds cool. I’m planning on getting back into DCS soon, and that sounds like a good training option for the F-14B.

Excellent! Yeah it seems like just the right kind of thing if you want to learn and fly very precise flying. And then put it to work!

I have the Tomcat and a couple of other campaigns but have never sat down and learned the module well enough to start, the differences between it and the other modules I have plus the two seater config has meant it’s lower on my priority of fun list. When I first heard about S&A I thought, OK, another Tomcat campaign. Something to file in the ‘maybe later’ folder. But no, this looks like the perfect way to learn the plane. Looking forward to it. But we also have the first proper combat F16 official campaign and the Mosquito campaign! Actually, I love the Mosquito but I find the radio navigation a bit of a chore. I’ve learned it and forgotten it twice. Saying that, the people making the campaign give me hope it will be a lot more than a 1940s navigation simulator and I’m looking forward to that one as well 😀

I’m really looking forward to S&A. I’ve kinda put off Zone 5 because of it.
And though Reflected says he won’t do a Hornet campaign, he IS doing a Viper campaign for the Kola map!

Never bought a DCS campaign but I should try one just to see what a pro can do with the mission editor. Don’t know the Tomcat well enough but a Hornet campaign would be good. I’d prefer it to be more colourful than realistic.
