A new tutorial video is out for DCS: F-15E Strike Eagle and this one is all about the jet’s radar. It’s important to the functioning of the jet both in air-to-air and air-to-ground modes so this one is going to be a key piece of learning for future DCS World Strike Eagle pilots.

All about the radar

This 13 minute tutorial is part one of RAZBAM’s video tutorial series on how to use the radar in the DCS: F-15E Strike Eagle. The video goes through various configurations of the radar, including bars, scan modes, and the user interface. The radar already has functionality like giving bullseye readouts in the bottom left corner for instance – useful to know!

This first segment is all about the air to air capability modes. Future tutorials will cover different kinds of targeting modes and presumably we’ll get into the air to ground capability. The F-15E’s synthetic aperture radar should offer us an extremely detailed, photo like, readout of ground targets enabling spotting of targets be they moving or sitting still. Pesky clouds blocking the sensor readout from your targeting pod won’t stop the F-15E from putting precision or unguided muntions on target!
