The F-15E is very much a multi-role fighter jet. It’s striking capability is its primary purpose, quite unlike the other Eagle variants, but it still packs a significant punch in the air-to-air arena to the point where Strike Eagles can potentially provide their own self escort with the ability to knock down enemy fighters while ingressing or egressing from the target area.
