Formerly known as MILVIZ, Blackbird Simulations is well known for creating some impressive aircraft such as their excellent Cessna 310R and they are set to talk to fans via a “State of the Sim” spring update. Here’s what’s coming up!
State of the Sim!

Being hosted by Colin and D’Andre from Blackbird Simulations, their forthcoming “State of the Sim” spring update is scheduled for tomorrow, February 25th at 3:00 pm. The Blackbird Team will be bringing news on their latest efforts to add new content to Microsoft Flight Simulator and judging by the aircraft in the rotating thumbnail, it looks like an SR-71 will be coming to us from the team.
Blackbird were also responsible for the awesome DHC-2 Beaver that was added, for free, in the 40th Anniversary update. I’ve heard conflicting reports but I’m hoping that Blackbird will be able to then offer a Turbo Beaver or some other variant in the future.
So, tune in tomorrow to check out the live stream on Twitch.
They’ve stated that they’re bringing many/most of their aircraft from P3D/FSX, and they set many standards for fidelity along the way.
Considering how well they’ve done so far with translating their F4U Corsair, PC-6, and C310, it’s gonna be GREAT!
My personal favorite of theirs is the unobtanium T-38C. It was fantastic in P3D, and they’ve already shown some teaser video in MSFS. Such a long, long list of other favs…

It’s certainly going to be a great portfolio by the time they are even halfway through!

I really enjoy all the Blackbird/Milviz products … but I have learned their timetables and such can get me a bit hyped and then let down a touch with the time it seems to actually take … not that it isn’t a) ultimately worth the wait and b) pretty much typical in this hobby for things to take longer than suggested 🙂

Yes – their SR-71 project is a perfect example! Has been in development for most of a decade it seems…

Details like the ones they do certainly mean that the development time will be lengthier.
As a DCS World fan… that’s just par for the course ☺️
