We’ve got a DCS: F/A-18C and DCS: F-16C update coming soon with new radar modes and tweaks to the radar. A new video, released today, provides an overview of one new mode – velocity radar mode.

Velocity radar

Both F-16 and F/A-18C for DCS are getting new radar updates over the next little while and one of the additions has been detailed in a short video by Matt Wagner. This video talks about the velocity radar mode which, as Matt details, works differently on both jets but does provide a valuable radar mode for situations with high aspect to target. Check it out!

Especially in regards radar, it looks like the Strike Eagle will set the bar higher than ever.
Glad to see work continues on these 2 birds to keep them up to par. 🙂

I don’t know about other people but I don’t know an awful lot beyond the basic theoretical and the practical sim elements (STT vs RWS) to be able to properly judge what’s the most realistic. That said, the Strike Eagle’s radar does seem to be extremely and intricately detailed. If that forces ED to follow suit I’m all for it … especially if it results in a more usable outcome in addition to a realistic one.

      1. It blows my mind the F16 has been out for so long and is still so bugged. And almost no missions or campaign for it.

Shame because it’s highly intuitive and one of my favorites to fly.
