RAZBAM have just launched the DCS: F-15E Strike Eagle but its not the only module that the third party DCS World developer has been working on. The mapping side of the RAZBAM team have been hard at work updating visuals and technology on DCS: South Atlantic. Here’s the latest news.
South Atlantic updates

DCS: South Atlantic is one of DCS’ most unique scenery packages sending players to the tip of South America and putting us in unfamiliar territory for many of us. Its built around the Falkland Islands as well as a good solid chunk of the southern part of South America. The map, when it launched, was met with a lukewarm reception. Among the issues were visuals for the cities and towns represented on the map. RAZBAM are looking to fix that.
The screenshots above were released a few days ago on their Facebook page. Here’s some of the changes that they have highlighted as coming soon:
- New – Major switch in technology used across all city blocks across the whole map
- New – All new POIs for Cities (ongoing) First City is Punta Arenas and Ushuaia.
- New – Complete redesign of city blocks using all new models which are in keeping of the region
- New – Major tree distribution adjustments to get rid of tree patterns across the whole map
- New – Major re-work of roads across all Cities across the whole map with new blocks, textures, models, layout etc
- Adjusted – adjusted many models to reduce poly count and improve textures and performance
- New – Rural areas have also been given some love with new villages
- Adjusted – Reduced the street lighting on (Route National 3) near Rio Gallegos airfield (Discord feedback)
- New – Added Deep a water port for Rio Grande
Additional screenshots are available via the RAZBAM Facebook page.
