It’s been a bit since we heard about IndiaFoxtEcho’s DCS projects, however, an update at the start of the month has filled us in on some details. Plus we have a new screenshot of their upcoming G.91. Let’s have a look at the update.

Status updates for MB-339, G-91R and future

IndiaFoxtEcho have been quietly working on the MB-339 in an effort to solve some bugs with the aircraft. They fortunately, after what sounds like a lengthy process, have isolated that rare but annoying bug where the nosewheel could cause the aircraft to explode during taxi.

The problem is solved and they are pushing to get it into the next open beta. Great news!

Additional features are also in the works for the MB-339 including the flight director as well as adding a working gun camera. New key bindings, gunsight for the instructor seat, and the possibility to tune the trim axis are all in the works. I love the sound of a working gun camera. A surprisingly rare feature among combat flight sims.

The update then turns to the G-91R. Although there’s not too much to talk about, there is a new screenshot of the module and word that the team are busy building the foundations of the module. These include the electrical, fuel, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.

They report that there is no timeline for its completion and it will be “done when its done.” Given the pace that nearly all DCS projects move at, this seems like a smart projection!

A future update on the G-91 is planned when they are further along so we look forward to that. They also mention that the G-91 isn’t the end of their plans for DCS World and they have other “ambitious projects” in the works. Can’t wait to find out what those are!

  1. I like MSFS MB-339, it’s good fun. Unfortunately the DCS version still hasn’t come out on sale. I thought we’d see some kind of discount for the sale going on now, but it didn’t happen.

It’s too bad because the L-39 and C-101 are 60% off. The 339 is more than twice the price of those modules. That makes it a bit of a tough choice. Nice plane though.

    1. It is a pricey one and I’m not exactly sure why theirs commands a premium over the others in the same category. I guess developers have to figure out what works for them – same with sales.

The 339 is a good and fun module all the same. If it does go on sale sometime it will be noteworthy!

      1. I don’t want to be too hard on them because the devs are active in the forums and seem to be really good guys. But according to Spudknocker’s poll, only 5% of the respondents owned the 339. I think it was the least owned plane of all. That’s why I’m surprised it hasn’t been on sale yet.

I would prefer the 339 over the L-39 or C-101, but the 339 is $77Cdn and the other trainers are $30Cdn. right now on sale. That’s enough of a difference to make a cheap ol’ bastard like me take notice.
