NZA’s Milford Sound region looks stunning for MSFS

Scenery maker NZA has just released a new trailer for their NZMF Milford Sound Region. More than just a single airport, this is a collection of airports, air strips, helipads, and a lot of scenery touches on the south west coast of New Zealand.

A bit of something for everyone

I don’t always get excited by scenery updates. I have bought a lot of them to help bring my flights to life but this one really does have my interest in a big way as it details a region of New Zealand that looks ideal for helicopter pilots, bush planes, and general aviation folks too. Doesn’t look like its ideal for airliner pilots although I’d be curious if someone can squeeze a small airliner in there – 2,565 feet doesn’t allow for much.

The scenery package includes 8 airports and airstrips.

NZMJ Martins Bay Aerodrome
NZQU Big Bay Beach Strip
NZ31 Cascade Lagoon Airstrip
NZ32 Hope River Airstrip
NZ34 Hollyford Track Airstrip
NZ35 Cascade Station Airstrip
T004 Quintin Lodge Airstrip

There are also helipads, docks, lodges and more to explore. All in a tight area that seems perfect for slower flying airplanes!

Judging from their Mount Cook payware region and their freeware addons, I really like NZA’s work; all I’ve seen are well-polished releases.

Milford Sound is another impressive region of New Zealand to explore even in the the stock version which sadly suffers from the ubiquitous stretched textures on the sides of mountains, the usual distinctive lack of cliffs, oddly generated flora and the likes. So definitely adding this addon to the backlog.

It’s probably worth mentioning that looking through their site I noticed that they seem to have also released a free expansion to the above Milford Sound addon adding more airstrips and POIs.
