Plans are taking shape for 2024 including with Just Flight who have put together a lengthy developer update talking about their plans for the upcoming year. Most of them are for Microsoft Flight Simulator but there is news for X-Plane 12 fans as well. Here’s what you need to know!

New products on the way

Just Flight’s update includes notes on both their in-house projects, of which there are several, as well as efforts being made by close third party partners. Those include Black Square who are currently working on the Piston Duke and Turbine Duke as well as Bluebird Simulations who are focused on delivering their 757-200 and -300 next year.

Turning to in-house projects, Just Flight have quite a few on the way so let’s have a look at the key points on each!

Airbus A300B4

A preview of the A300’s cockpit texture work shows of Just Flight’s usual level of extreme detail

The first one listed is their Airbus A300B4 Professional product. Yes, we have two A300s on the way to Microsoft Flight Simulator! This one replicates an earlier model of the airplane and Just Flight report good progress on the cockpit texturing, systems coding, and modeling for the fuselage, nose section, flap track systems, and both CF6 and JT9D engines.

Tornado GR1

The team that just delivered the Vulcan for MSFS are in the process of turning their attention to the Tornado GR1. The team are busy working on both interior and exterior with 8K textures in use for high fidelity visuals. The code is reportedly coming over from their P3D version and then being improved. There will also be 24 included paint schemes covering UK, German, Italian and Saudi Tornado IDS squadrons.

PA-38 Tomahawk

Announced quite some time ago, Just Flight’s PA-38 Tomahawk has been reportedly stalled for quite a while but is back at the centre of attention. The update mentions work done on the avionics stack that includes a GMA340 audio panel, SL30 and SL40 NAV/COM transceivers and a GTX328 transponder. This will reportedly be their next general aviation release.

RJ Professional and 146 Professional

Another project in the works is the successor to the 146 Professional with the RJ Professional. The RJ is the more modern version of the BAe 146 coming from Avro. The autopilot and navigation systems are reportedly very different from the older 146 and so work on them is ongoing.

Speaking of the 146, Just Flight say that the aircraft will receive another big update in early 2024. That aircraft will adapt extra work that’s gone into the RJ for the cabin. It will also sport the UNS-1 FMC which is in the late stages of beta testing.

F70/100 Professional

The last of the big MSFS projects mentioned is the F70/100 Professional. A development of the F28 Professional, this updated aircraft features more modern glass cockpit elements. Some of the work going into this include authentic looking curved CRT style screens that will take you back to the late 1980s.

Duchess Model 76

Finally, there is an update on an X-Plane 12 project. Working together with Thranda, Just Flight’s next release will be their Duchess Model 76. 8K textures, PBR, custom animations, new tablet EFB, aircraft configuration states, and new dynamic livery feature with colour customization are all on the way.

Even more to look at

Just Flight’s update includes links to their development pages and there are even more screenshots and information than I’ve presented here. Be sure to check out their December Development update and have a look at the development pages for the A300B4, Tornado GR1, PA38 Tomahawk, RJ Professional, F70/100 Professional, and Duchess Model 76.
