The official X-Plane social media accounts have been doing a good job of highlighting third party developers recently and in one of their most recent posts the highlighted the work of developer FlyJSim who are busy working on adding features to their 737 Twin Jet Pro V4.

Unique features

While a lot of focus has been on more modern 737 models, there’s a certain everlasting charm that comes with the original and now classic 737 series. Their 737 TwinJet Pro V4 is currently in development for X-Plane 12 and the latest screenshots show off a couple of interesting extra features.

The first is work on the UNS-1 flight management system and the second is work on a gravel kit for the venerable aircraft. Some operators of the 737, particularly small Canadian airlines flying in the far north, fly with special gravel kits only available on the classic 737. Various modifications including modified wheels and extra protection for the engines helps enable the jet to land on rough gravel strips.

Check out the screenshots from the official X-Plane accounts above.

  1. Looking forward to the FJS 727 and 737 XP12 versions. They are the only reason I still have XP11 installed. I believe it will still be a bit as I think it’s an extremely small team (1 or 2 people maybe?)

Great to see them featured and that those who have been clamoring for a gravel kit will finally get their wish!

Gravel kit for a classic 737 sounds like the makings of a lot of fun flying!

Hey Miguel. I’m not sure, I haven’t seen many updates since reporting on this last year.
