We’ve got our best look at PMDG’s long awaited 777 for Microsoft Flight Simulator thanks to a new trailer released by the developer. Let’s have a look at it and a few new items that we’ve learned!

A look at the 777

Up until now, PMDG have been showing us the 777 in small teasers but never showing off the whole airplane the way we see with this trailer.

While the video does let us see the aircraft’s cockpit, exterior, and passenger cabin it doesn’t reveal too much else regarding features. We do learn, in follow up information, that PMDG intend to release the 777-300ER first, then the 777F and then the 777-200 after. It was widely assumed that the -200 would come first but instead it’s good to see the more popular variant is heading to our screens in this order.

In the follow up live stream from PMDG we also learn that pricing will be similar to the 737 series, that the 737 MAX will arrive between 777 variants, and that release is no more than 2 months out.

You can listen to the full Q&A here.

  1. Defintely picking this one up. Really enjoying the 737-600 and the 777 should be a lot of fun.

I’m very curious about it myself. I’ve got some 737 content coming up plus review so this might be a natural next step.

Will you take it on any long haul flights?

      1. I might be too undisciplined to do a true long haul flight. Montreal/Toronto, that kind of thing, might be my limit. Most of all I want to do a bunch of landings in a great big plane.

Mind you, I might try cross country. Montreal/Vancouver. But I can’t imagine doing that more than once.

Yeah always curious what folks do when they get into the wide-body, long-haul airliners. I love flying the little regional jets and turboprops because you can get in a quick flight without too much planning. The bigger ones are intended for longer flights… though there are places like Japan where they do shorter flights so that’s possible if you want real world flying. Or just do city hops with a giant airliner too! Nothing prevents that!

      3. I’d say a good 50% of the fun for me is landing. Colour me weird, but there it is. Some of the best fun I ever had in a flightsim was in the Captain Sim F-104. Takeoff, zoom around, and land. Then do it again. Fast planes, big planes, and big ass concrete airfields. Love it.

  2. Between this and the pending Flight Factor 777 in X-Plane it’ll be one of the only times we can compare contemporaneous modules across multiple sims.

Should be fun – the FF will definitely be Hi Fi.

(FWIW, I don’t do long haul flights – too many as a pax IRL to enjoy the monotony)
