Not to be outdone by the other sims out there, X-Plane 12 is set to see a new or drastically updated (depending on how you look at it) widebody airliner of its own. Developer FlightFactor have been busy on their social media and on the X-Plane.org Forums recently showing off the latest work on their project and they are reporting that they are nearing beta testing. Here are the key details!

A 777 for X-Plane 12

Developer FlightFactor are getting their 777 v2 ready for release on X-Plane 12 reporting at the end of February that they were working towards beta testing. That’s generally a good sign as the long awaited version of the 777 works its way towards release (the original was released in 2015).

New screenshots, released as recently as yesterday, show off the exterior of the aircraft.

The original included its own custom FMS and custom VNAV programming among a host of other airliner features so this one is likely to meet those specifications at a minimum.

No release date or pricing has yet been made available and the developer reports that there won’t be any discounts for prior owners as the new project is a ground up redevelopment of the aircraft. Pricing is expected to remain on par for a project of this size. Keep an eye on the company’s Facebook page and X-Plane.org Forum for more information.

One of the best kinds of horse races because everyone wins a widebody airliner! ☺️

      1. they both do great work!

Glad to see fresh work from FF – have always enjoyed their 757.

almost bought their newer 764 several times, but I’d rather the 777 (and 787 later on).

PMDG will be hard to resist, too, but I may hold out for the return of The Queen.
