A new short message from RAZBAM CEO Ron Zambrano provides a ray of hope after Friday’s clashing public statements between RAZBAM and Eagle Dynamics. Let’s have a look.

Not every twist and turn in this high profile clash between DCS World third party developer RAZBAM will be newsworthy but I think this one definitely is because its our first announcement from the leadership of either side of this dispute since things kicked off on Friday.

Posted to RAZBAM’s Discord, CEO Ron Zambrano of RAZBAM Simulations struck a conciliatory note and provided us all with a ray of hope.

Dear customers and community. RAZBAM Simulations is actively working with EAGLE DYNAMICS to reach an agreement to resolve our internal dispute and we don’t want the discussion that our public declaration has generated to escalate any further. We want to assure you that it has never been nor will it be our intention to abandon our products. We look forward to a prompt and satisfactory resolution, turn the page, and move forward. Best regards.

After much gnashing of teeth over the last couple of days, this is definitely a welcome message to those of us in the community.

Many of our deepest fears have been that RAZBAM would depart from DCS World altogether leaving their four released modules in serious jeopardy. These aircraft have become community favourites and even with some of the turbulent earlier years of development, RAZBAM have stuck with their aircraft providing significant updates to most of them.

This latest message doesn’t mean that challenges are over. Obviously a serious dispute requires serious negotiation and that may take time. Things may become a bit quieter over the next while as the two parties work out their issues behind the scenes. But hopefully we’ll see this emerge as a brief turbulence and that things will get back on track reasonably quickly. My fingers remain crossed!

      Avoid Hoggit etc like the plague if you can. DCSExposed even more so. Many of the lurkers on those and indeed some of the admin are clinically unwell and should find a new hobby.
      Shamrock fights the good fight but keeps it above board and professional.

      Exactly, that’s what they should have done from the beginning instead of this whole circus on Discord and other networks. This is what is expected from a company that is minimally professional. In my case I was not a big fan of Razbam, even less so now.

    Good to hear.

    But more than likely ED will remain silent, keep deleting and locking threads, and act as if nothing is happening and the customers are wrong for even asking about it. Just like every other time.

    Fantastic flightsim, but I swear it’s run by politicians. 🙂

        You may well be right. But the longer this festers in the dark, the more people will be wondering if it’s safe to buy anything. I want to buy more DCS stuff, but even if the F4 comes out tomorrow, I’m not spending a dime until I get some positive vibes from both sides and some happy-happy talk about a bright sunny future.

        So far ED’s responses in the forum, what of them there are, read like they were written by bad AI.

        I do see comments all around the community expressing continued concern about their current DCS purchases and so yeah I suspect that sales have probably taken a hit over the last few days. Once things have been sorted out, confidence inspiring messages will definitely be needed.

    Correction: Ron’s LAWYER clearly ghost wrote that for him. And thank goodness cooler heads seem to be taking the wheel.

    My hope is that the RB employees/sub-cos can be brought back to the fold. Or at least if not with Razbam, than with another DCS developer.

    They’ve done excellent work, especially as of the last several years.

    And for SURE they need to get paid – by Razbam. That’s who owes them the money.

    Diplomacy is an art. I can’t think the number of times I’ve been the first to step in and smooth ruffled feathers, gaining 2 friends in the future, and getting on with the job. (When push comes to shove, if you want to get paid, you need to talk to the people with the wallet). Lets all hope an outbreak of commonsense becomes infectious

      Diplomacy is absolutely an art. One not always practiced or even appreciated but one that I think makes a huge amount of different in many different areas.

        Actually not only Razbam modules might be affected but also the artist doing the Bo 105 helicopter isn´t he working with Razbam?

        Yikes. I can do without the Harrier, it’s never worked well with my system for some reason. I’d hate to lose the M-2000 but at least we have the F-1. But South Atlantic? I love that map. I often just fly around on it, feeling like an explorer. And then reliving the Falklands War a little bit, usually in a chopper.

        I hope they sort out their stuff, I’ve basically left War Thunder (ok, settle down at the back!) and IL2 because of shenanigans, but so far I’ve always been confident the DCS ecosystem was fairly immune to stuff like this, and they learned their lesson with the Tishchenko nonsense. Fingers crossed!

    Statements like these cost companies dearly. This dispute could have been handled a lot better and with less public scrutiny. But at the end of the day, Razbam said it publicly, they made the statement public and its only them that has to bare the consequences.
    They need to move forward and learn that we, as consumers expect them to stop support for any of their products at any time. We have already paid for these products…. But whether we will continue to buy again is another story.

    I’d be more interested in a comment from ED, about whether they intend to guarantee support for products i’ve purchased (which may be broken with successive updates) and whether they intend to complete products I have purchased in early access.

    With the greatest of respect to RAZBAM, i’ve never purchased anything from them in my life, I have no contract with RAZBAM I have however purchased products from ED such as the Harrier/Mirage/Strike Eagle etc…

    What is EDs stance on THEIR continuing support for and/or completion of those modules.

    I’m just a flight simmer, I have no interest in what goes on in the background or in the relationships (or lack theirof) between DCS and their commercial partners…I just want to know from ED…wil lthey guarantee support/completion of the products i’ve paid top dollar for?

      I very much doubt they could 100% commit to complete any unfinished module from a failing/withdrawing 3rd party even if they have an escrow arrangement on the source in such eventualities. They could probably commit to ‘keep the lights on’ in terms of any maintenance changes required to keep step with the underlying DCS platform.

    I’ve left every Reddit DCS sub simply because the bile and vitriol has gotten out of hand. The larger DCS community is shockingly toxic.
