TrueEarth Great Britain South is out
Orbx’s TrueEarth series for X-Plane have gradually been getting the upgrade to X-Plane 12 standard. TrueEarth Great Britain South combines 42,000 square miles of southern England and Wales together with some X-Plane 12 specific features like 3D trees with correct heights and locations and upgraded water masking. There’s 13.2 million autogen buildings themed correctly for the area and hundreds of custom points of interest too.

I used to be very interested in Wing Commander, TIE Fighter and Descent: FreeSpace. I kind of burned myself out on them and I’m almost entirely focused on aviation stuff these days. Could change. Never know!

Some games are going to offer/are offering athmospheric flight, in Star Citizen for example control surfaces are going to be added to Spaceships.

Oh for sure. I keep tabs on what’s going on over there with some interest but not a content focus for me at the moment. Could always change but I’m plenty busy with what’s going on with the flight sim scene to be sure.

Speaking of flight sims any idea when DCS MIG 29 will become available for pre order?

No hints or any other indications at this point. It’s also unclear how long the project has been in development though they will save some time seeing as the module will draw on the already excellent PFM flight model for the Flaming Cliffs MiG-29.
