Announced yesterday during the MSFS June Q&A, Famous Flyer 9 has been revealed to be a bundle package featuring the Douglas C-47 and the Waco CG-4A glider. Both used extensively throughout WWII and especially in the operation to liberate Europe that started on this day 80-years ago. Let’s have a look!

Bundled history

Releasing in a bundle package, Famous Flyer 9 is two iconic aircraft in one. The C-47 needs little introduction while the Waco Glider is a little less well known but was infamously used to move troops and vehicles to insertion points all over Normandy in the opening phases of Operation Overlord.

The two aircraft are on sale for $14.99 USD and available exclusively in the MSFS Marketplace. Microsoft also reports that every purchase made between June 6 and July 5 will see Microsoft donate 100% of each sale to the United Service Organizations (USO).
