New life is being breathed into Just Flight’s F28 Professional with a version 2 update that appears set to rival a similar upgrade performed on the company’s BAe 146 Professional a few months ago. New features, introduction of an FMS, new SimBrief support and more are all packaged into the update and we now have a full accounting of what they have planned. Let’s have a look!

New images, new details

Just Flight are giving us some new details and new images from their upcoming version 2 update for the F28 Professional that has been out on the market for just over a year now.

There are quite a few updates that have been packaged into this airliner including a custom-coded UNS-1 FMS which would mark the first time that the F28 has received an FMS. That FMS includes holding, direct to, command heading, top of descent calculations, navigation monitoring, support for SIDs and STARs, ability to save and import custom flight plans, and more.

That’s not all because they are also bringing in significant updates to their EFB with simulated passenger and cargo boarding and deboarding (with selectable speeds from realistic to instant), integration with GSX, and even automatic crew open and close of the passenger and service doors.

They have also added a new interactive clipboard for checklists (more immersive that way), new altitude preselect controller, passenger oxygen regulator option, GNS530 swapped for a GNS430 which now moves to the first officers panel (freeing up the radar display and more accurately represents the few F28s still in operation), as well as animated sunvisors and ashtrays.

Just Flight report they have also improved state saving logic, fixed numerous minor bugs, improved SimBrief import (with passenger, cargo and ZFW) with new profiles for each variant of the aircraft, added more liveries, and a few things I’ve probably missed. No ETA is currently available but PC owners can get a small discount on the aircraft with the summer sale about to end. The F28 Professional is on sale for $48.99 USD at the moment.
