It looks like Aerosoft’s A330 airliner project may be lining up for a takeoff as they start a new series of videos called “Discover the A330.” Let’s have a look!

A visual overview

This first video in the series is a visual overview of the 3D model of their upcoming A330 airliner. The video is hosted by Aerosoft’s community & content manager Rafael (aka Rafi) who walks us through some of the work they’ve done on the aircraft. This video shows us the 3D model inside and out pointing out details big and small. It’s also an opportunity for them to show off the A330neo model which we haven’t seen as much of previously. The larger engines and new wingtips in particular get some attention.

The video presentation was done by AviationLads so the production value is extremely high as usual.

Though Aerosoft haven’t said what they will be covering next, this is indicated as a series of videos so I expect we’ll be learning more about sounds, systems and other features as the series progresses presumably with full release at the end.

  1. Talk about “A Day Late and A Dollar Short”…

Doesn’t even begin to cover the incredibly delayed release of this bird.

And after seeing how they’ve neglected the CRJ (and don’t even get me started on the Twin Otter…), I’ll be giving this one a pass.

Aerosoft’s scenery is really good but their aircraft track record for MSFS has been …. not good. And its a shame because they came out with two compelling aircraft products that they really just didn’t finish. I still am hoping for the CRJ update that is allegedly being worked on but its not something I’m expecting.

Meanwhile yeah this A330 is quite delayed and I think it’s going to face an uphill battle versus the included A330 that iniBuilds is delivering. Maybe the A330neo will draw some attention?

  2. Will the Aerosoft A330ceo and A330neo be high fidelity? When I watched the video they said that all the knobs and switches will be working, so I gathered that this might be a high fidelity aircraft, possibly even study level.

It’ll probably be on the low end of high fidelity. Functional systems but without the failures modeling.

      1. That’s still pretty good news though. It would be an aircraft where someone would want all the systems working but doesn’t want to have to deal with any of the systems failing. Agree?

In theory it may be well placed if priced right. The lack of enthusiasm around the community are more to do with Aerosoft’s two previous aircraft releases which were plagued with issues and not supported over the long run. How they manage it this time remains to be seen.
