Accompanied by a short Christmas message, Aerges has shared a teaser video of the cockpit for their DCS: F-104.

Starfighter tease

Aerges next project, an F-104 for DCS World, looks to be taking shape as the third party aircraft developer has given us a short teaser video of the textured cockpit.

The teaser comes with this image of an F-104 with appropriate Santa Claus hat.

Hopefully we’ll learn more about their project in the new year!

  3. This F-104 project of Aerges might actually be up for release much earlier than in 2027! And I know that this is a little early to think of, but I would really like to know what will come next from Aerges after the F-104. We’ll find out in good time. What I think we really need is the Mirage III, which could also come as the Israeli Nesher or the Argentine Dagger, both of which should be there for DCS. So hopefully maybe Aerges could do the Mirage III.

    1. Wait, I realised my mistake. That was the Mirage V. A Mirage III module could come as two variants, one being the Standard Mirage III and the other as the South African Atlas Cheetah. But I also think that the Mirage V needs doing as well, as we could get a lot of use out of the Nesher on the Syrian and Sinai maps and the Dagger for the South Atlantic map. Sorry for the mix up.

      1. AVIRON was announced as a developer of the Kfir so you’ll possibly see a Mirage V derived option in DCS when that project releases. There’s not been any substantive updates from the team but they are still active.

    2. Would really like to see the Mirage III done as there’s more and more scope for its theatre of ops with the maps we now have but think its a pipe dream for the time being.

I know an ex Mirage III driver who would love to see it as well.

      1. I’d love a Mirage III. That model has quite a bit of combat history and potential to fit into a lot of scenarios.

Funny story, I was having a look around to see what Aerges have been up to recently. Nothing to report on the F-104. The last comment said that part of the team was focused on the 104, the other part on the F1M.

Aerges tend to be the kind of developer that doesn’t update much until they are good and ready to show something and then the update flow is nearly constant to release.
