Magnitude-3 offers best wishes and DCS: F4U Corsair update

It’s been a long time since we last heard from Magnitude 3. The developers of the released DCS: MiG-21 and DCS: Christen Eagle II as well as work in progress DCS: F4U Corsair and DCS: F-8 Crusader, have not said much since their summer update but now we’ve got an update on their long in development and long awaited Corsair module for DCS.

Corsair progress

The update starts out with news that their flight model engineer has been busy working on the model of the Corsair. Reportedly their work has been sent over to Eagle Dynamics for evaluation.

Meanwhile, the art team is working on the following items:

  • Z-2 Anti-G Suit Piping
  • Defrost / Heater System
  • Pulley Cable Mech
  • Rain Guard
  • AN/M8 Flair Gun & Cartridge Box
  • Elevator Control Shaft
  • Updated Seat Mech
  • Updated Canopy Items

Some of which you’ll see in some of the released imagery.

It looks like Corsair progress is ongoing. Maybe with a little luck we’ll learn more about what this team has been up to in 2025. Check out their Facebook page for more!

    I used to be really interested in this aircraft coming to DCS (as its an awesome marvel of the air and a carrier aircraft to boot) but its just been so long in development I’ve (like others) have completely given up on it. They had a great brand with the MiG-21 but since the split up of the development houses the prop side of the house has been really lacking (with only one really odd choice of an aircraft being released).

    Sorry – I should try to be more positive but its so hard in this case.

    I still hope they release some information and images on their other products, like the MiG 21bis 2.0, and F-8J Crusader as well as their two undisclosed products. I bet one of them will be the A6M while the other will be the Su-17 or 22.

      I’m glad it’s looking fancy! I was worried that the refresh may not appeal but it is coming along. See the new post about it for a bit more… there’s more work to do but its a good stepping stone!

    I wont get much sleep if the Corsair F4U comes to DCS:). Its my all favourite airplane of everything that can fly. Until then I fly mainly the Spitfire on daily bases. Thats no punishment either:) I hope it will come in 2025. If so, Ill be very thankful!
