It’s not a flight simulator but it’s pretty darn close. Task Force Admiral Vol 1 has been in development for many years now by a small but dedicated crew. The title is focused on carrier operations during the Pacific War with the first effort focused squarely at American Carrier ops. The project has moved into a limited time playable demo and is offering up a Kickstarter campaign with a very specific goal. Let’s have a look at the latest!
Task Force Admiral is playable
Promising an action packed scenario and a look ahead what what Task Force Admiral is developing into, the action based strategy game puts you in charge of a US carrier task force during the early parts of the Pacific War. The carrier duels of the time should make for some compelling gameplay and you can now find out for yourself with the playable demo now available on Steam.

Kickstarter campaign
The Task Force Admiral project is looking to do something interesting. While the virtual version of the game will eventually come out, the developers belong to the same 1990s era sim enthusiasts that many of us belong to. If you weren’t there, it was an era with big boxes, beautiful artwork on the box and inside (I still have my Aces of the Pacific poster), glossy and lengthy manuals and technical documents and more. It was a golden era for simmers and Task Force Admiral want to go back to that with a nostalgic Kickstarter for a physical release of the game.
The company is offering a tiered series of options that offer up physical releases with posters and art cards, a soundtrack release, challenge coin and more.
The team have already moved well past their initial goals which certainly suggests some enthusiasm for the format.
Check out the Kickstarter to see if you’re interested in what they have to offer.
