Microsoft Flight Simulator aircraft developers AzurPoly say that their SEPECAT Jaguar project is nearly complete and nearing release. There’s a new trailer out, confirmation on a couple of lingering questions, and a few other details to report on so let’s have a look!
Nearly ready to go
The biggest news is that AzurPoly have teamed up with Practically Geek and Echo One Niner to bring us a cinematic trailer for the Jaguar project. Azur Poly say that they are bringing one of the first MSFS 2024 natively developed jet fighters to the sim and report that they’ve been able to achieve a visual quality beyond anything they were able to do before.
The team have also decided that they will prepare a MSFS 2020 compatible version as they recognize that much of the community is still on the older sim.
The team is planning to release the project on both 2020 and 2024 with availability on both PC and Xbox. The release date is not yet set, however, the trailer and wording of the latest update seems to indicate that we’re getting close.
Other details
Announced previously. the trailer confirms and shows off the work that AzurPoly team have done to bring both the Jaguar A as well as Jaguar GR1 variants to life. While both have external differences, the team have elected to develop just the Jaguar A cockpit (for now anyways). They have confirmed that the RAF version’s moving map is not a feature of the French version and thus that has not been added.
Questions in the comments also asked about the Jaguar’s slightly unique overwing Sidewinder pylons. Those have not been fitted as they have struggled to find sufficient information on the installation. They say they need pictures from all angles to attempt it.
Stay tuned for more details on this project! Visit the AzurPoly Facebook page or website for more info.
