Its inevitable with a complex product that there will be needed updates on issues discovered post launch. The iniBuilds A350 is no different from any other release and the team there have worked to sort out a number of issues with the recently launched airliner. Let’s have a look!

Updated airliner

Several dozen updates are listed in the changelog for iniBuilds A350 version 1.0.1. The airliner has launched to a huge wave of excitement and has also had a few issues that it needed to have sorted out. From WASM crashes to an unusually loud sound to other various bugs, the A350 is not without its issues though it has received plenty of praise too.

The change logs fixes to animations, an improved SimBrief profile for the -1000, fixes to passenger counts, fixed excessively loud gear drag sound, improved audio mixes between some sounds and various other fixes are now in place.

Three WASM related crashes have been fixed as well though I wouldn’t be surprised if users report some additional crashes as time goes on. It’s been a similar story with other airliners and other iniBuilds airliner products such as the A300-600.

The changelog for the update can be found here.

Clear those WASM folders

iniBuilds are also suggesting clearing out the A350’s WASM folder in your MSFS install when doing the update. The folder contains files that specify the throttle calibration, as well as download and connect you to Navigraph. iniBuilds have made some changes to these systems that mean that a clear-out and recreation of the preferences is ideal.

There are instructions for how to clear out WASM in MSFS 2020 and then how to do the same for 2024.

  1. I wonder how far along their A380 is for MSFS. I imagine that since this is pay ware this would have to exceed the level of detail and quality that the FlyByWire A350 has

We’ve not seen anything of it yet but I’m willing to bet that it won’t take as long to deliver as the A350. I’m sure their visual team moved from A350 to A380 while the programmers did their thing. The A380 shares quite a bit of the same avionics so I can see that going quickly(ish) too.

I’ll certainly be reporting once we hear something. It will be interesting to compare with FlyByWire’s work.

Have you picked up the A350?

      1. Not yet but from what I have seen the iniBuilds A350 is breathtakingly beautiful, and so detailed in systems and failures. Once it comes onto the marketplace I’ll be getting it. I’ve heard that it is less complicated to fly than the A320ceo family.

Although I think that it is a risky move for them to invest time, money and effort into the A380 (because of the already freeware FlyByWire A380), I think that they have made the right choice with it’s avionics being similar to that of the A380.

I also think that the Synaptic Simulations/iniBuilds A220 will be a massive hit too. They haven’t gone public with their progress on the A220 for a long time but I trust that it will be just as incredible.

I think that it would be really cool for iniBuilds to make the A320neo family to the same standard as their A350 in terms of visuals, sound effects, avionics, systems and failures, ect. The A320neo family have already have a huge presence in the modern aviation world so I think that a study level/borderline study level A320neo family of aircraft is vital to have in MSFS now more than ever. But they may have to do it from scratch, so we’d have to wait a long time.
