It’s time for another Flight Sim Expo! Starting today in Providence, Rhode Island, FSExpo 2025 kicks off with a day of product showcases and announcements and its bound to have a few surprises along the way so buckle up for continuous updates throughout the afternoon.

Continuous updates through the afternoon start now

I’ll be publishing frequent updates all afternoon as the announcements start coming in from Flight Sim Expo 2025 in Providence, RI. This year, I’ll be reporting virtually and bringing in as much context and information as I can get.

11:34 am EDT – Getting ready to go

Here we go folks with another Flight Sim Expo! I’ve got the stream online and we’re waiting for the event to start. I’ll be updating regularly throughout the afternoon as new information comes in.

You can also watch alongside me this year through the official Flight Sim Association stream. The stream kicks off at 12:50 pm EDT.

12:37 pm – DCS World is at the WINWING booth this year!

From the 27th to the 29th of June, 2025 we will be previewing our upcoming DCS: MiG-29A Fulcrum on the WINWING stand at the FightSimExpo! Please remember that you can still take advantage of the -30% pre-purchase discount up until launch. http://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/shop/modu…

Eagle Dynamics (@eagledynamics.bsky.social) 2025-06-27T15:12:30.653Z

If you’re on site tomorrow or Sunday, DCS: MiG-29A Fulcrum is being previewed by a member of the Eagle Dynamics team at the WINWING booth. That’s cool! And also a good sign that the module is getting close.

1:00 pm – Kicking it off

We’ve got some an ad for iniBuilds Providence airport scenery starting things off. Then, a sizzle reel featuring various creators, virtual aerobatics teams, and more bringing together a beautiful cinematic.

Evan, one of the co-founders of the Flight Sim Association and organizers of the expo, has taken the stage and is welcoming everyone to the event. Talking about Providence (apparently it has the most number of restaurants per square mile anywhere in the US!) and the convention centre.

Evan is mentioning that Parallel 42, one of their top sponsors, has done three cool things. One of those is bringing an actual airplane to the expo. Evan says that they really want to engage with flight schools, airliners, and aircraft manufacturers for future shows – sounds like a great idea!

1:21 pm – Parallel 42

We’ve got Ed Correia from Parallel 42 to to an overview of their products.

  • Chase Plane – The utility has a cinematic camera system, unlimited view system with the ability to position anywhere in the world, physics based cameras, and a fly-by-camera which MSFS (surprisingly) doesn’t have.
  • Next up for Chase Plane are some refactoring for the code, Tobii Eye Tracker support, named shortcuts, custom cinematic sequences, the ability to import views for a new plane, spot view adjustments for orienting the aircraft in different parts of the screen, and more.
  • Scenery – Releases are coming to 2024 including Mexican Mountain and Bush Plane Campout.
  • Club 42 – A new loyalty program with discounts and other rewards. You automatically join when spending more than $42.
  • Super Patriot – The Super Patriot is in the sim to check out at the expo while sitting under the wing of the real airplane which is on site. Aircraft is still in development.
  • FreedomFox – First aircraft released for 2020. Done in partnership with Trent Palmer (bushplane YouTuber). Freedom Fox and Fox 2 will go to 2024 native, not as a complete rebuild but as a significant update. Free update if you own it already.
  • Reveal – Trent Palmer’s new airplane, the Legend Cub Nomad, is the next project that the team is taking on! A cool backcountry aircraft for sure.

1:45 pm – Navigraph

Magnus from Navigraph has taken the stage together with members of his team. They are planning to reveal three products today.

  • New flight training initiative through Navigraph Academy.
  • Review of the year: Released Live Traffic & ATC Networks feature last year. Stability improvements and updates. SimBrief dispatch integrated into MSFS 2020. There was a 2024 release and EFB apps for the 2024 EFB (note to self: I need to check that out!). Scratch pads feature added for writing notes in the app.
  • New VFR charts are coming to the system soon.
  • New Navigraph powered taxi assistance system with visualized info for taxiway routing. It does routing, it warns you about difficult to taxi places, etc.!
  • Planned features include visual and aural warnings. Maximum wingspan information and restricted aircraft (for you A380 flyers!). Max speed info, hold category selection, time predictions, clearances and autoroute/taxiway selector, deicing areas and stand occupation info.
  • The system will also have the ability to do routing information with a 3D visualization. It could be used as a nav aid. Traffic can be imported from BeyondATC.
  • They say all of these new features are “coming soon” (TM!) with a bit of a wink to there not being a real release date just yet.

2:08 pm – OnAir

2:09 pm – Altimeter Motives

The founder of Altimeter Motives is on the stage to talk about this new product.

  • These are hardware solutions with options for different instrument panels in a constrained space. The panels are flat and have instrumentation on them that includes six pack, or similar pack with a G5 as well as side panels and other options.
  • They also have dual touchscreen for GPS setups.

  • New product announcement: PA-28 Arrow panel (works well with Just Flight’s aircraft). Custom graphics work for them to look just like they do in the Piper.
  • They also have a rare (10 built, 9 left), Baron 58 panel.
  • In-case you wanted to know what the prices were… here they are! That’s not that bad if you really want a specific setup.

2:17 pm – Advertisement for the AS 33 Me

Love to see Got Friends and their new AS 33 Me with trailer by Aviation Lads working its way into the advertising mix.

2:21 pm – FliteSim.Com

  • Then its on to the A350 with the ULR update. New features include some of the recently announced stuff plus new scenarios like an unwell passenger. Also Cabin Packs for specific airlines. They mention this as an add-on so I’m not sure if this is a separately priced thing. We’ll get into that later.
  • A220 time! Advertising systems, sounds, visuals with a fancy trailer. (Sidenote: LOT just ordered 40 plus 40 more options, the aircraft is getting lots of attention in the real world).

  2. Thanks for the comprehensive coverage!

Nice that Navigraph keeps making me feel like that premium subscription is money well spent!

That FSS Super 727 looks sick. I still haven’t been able to use the standard version much, but what I have done with it has been very impressive.

I don’t know what their deal is with the E-jets though. Am I right that it’s been out for quite some time and doesn’t even have an authentic FMC, and the autopilot can’t use VNAV (or maybe even LNAV?) The Feelthere E-jets I had for FSX had all that stuff 15 years ago.

Thanks! Was kinda fun writing it up as it was happening though I am certainly spent tonight. That was quite a bit of work.

Their E-Jets I don’t know what happened. It seems like doing the FMC and VNAV really consumed them and the whole thing bogged down. I know they spent time moving between languages and developing tools so I’m sure that was part of it.

I’m leery to spend more on the series or the 727 until the E170/175 come along. There is progress shown today which is good and they have moved over to 2024 now too so that’s encouraging. I remain hopeful!

  3. Winwing back with the very good pricing and now the first to market with non-shed FFB pedals. Too bad that we didn’t get any indication when the FFB joystick base will be available.

Navigraph seems to work really hard to add features. Don’t really like subscriptions, but they are definitely providing value.

Rather bizarre for Moza to merely show a brief video of a previously released product, and not have a presentation for all the new stuff they announced. Perhaps they are afraid to show it off when they don’t have prices yet, but it seems like a missed opportunity to get some exposure.

That mini flight display by AV. My oh my. A rather high price and then you also have to buy extremely expensive credits per flight you want to track. One UK pound per flight! Just an awful product. And the presentation was weird too, with him forgetting to bring the actual hardware to stage, and putting ‘see you next year if we don’t go bankrupt first.’ Feels like this is gallows humor and their finances are poor, but how dumb is it to put this thought in people’s minds, when all their products stop working if the company disappears.

Finally, the Flitesim guy was very funny as usual. Their products are a bit too professional for me, but they seem good and more than fairly priced for what they are. However, it was unfortunate that his presentation got stopped just as he was giving a demo.
