A bunch of flight sim news items to update you on including some great new screenshots from X-Crafts, two free community created campaigns for the DCS: OH-58D and DCS: AJS-37, a GA-8 Airvan update from SimWorks Studios, GotFriends updates one of their original glider releases, and Synaptic Simulations A220 screenshots have been shared on Reddit recently. Let’s have a look!
X-Crafts shares new ERJ images
Regional jetliners are popular in flight simulation these days and X-Crafts are busy bringing their ERJ Family up to a new standard with a complete overhaul of the original versions that they developed years ago. A recent post on the X-Plane Reddit group shows off some of the latest development images.
Free DCS: OH-58D and DCS: AJS-37 campaigns


Two community created campaigns have come out in recent weeks for DCS World. Through the Desert Dust gives the DCS: OH-58D its first campaign (to the best of my knowledge) with 14 single player missions set during the 2010 Afghanistan campaign.

And if helicopters aren’t your thing, maybe the Viggen is! Norrland Campaign for the DCS: AJS-37 Viggen has also just come out. This campaign has Swedish and Finnish voice actors and several missions arrayed across the DCS: Kola map.

SWS reports GA8 progress and does intro video
SimWorks Studios efforts to bring the GA8 Airvan to Microsoft Flight Simulator are continuing. The aircraft has yet to release but it is due out soon complete with an optional failure and reliability system for those who like to track their aircraft’s long term reliability. A video has been released in the interim.
Emerald Scenery Designs updated scenery

More scenery is making the move to MSFS 2024 with Emerald Scenery Designs coming in with both payware and freeware options for MSFS 2024. Bald Eagle Myakka Head airfield, a payware option available for $9.99 USD has now been updated with several fixes and MSFS 2024 support.
Similarly, the freeware Fantasy of Flight airport, home to Kermit Weeks collection of vintage aircraft, has been given a few updates and now works well with MSFS 2024. You may want to heed the warning about photogrammetry in the area however.
A220 screenshots shared
Synaptic’s A220 is coming along and one of the developers has shared a couple of screenshots to Reddit in the last few days. The visuals are, as we’ve seen on their recent stream, excellent.
Got Friends updates gliders

Got Friends Discus2C glider has received some updates recently. Both the Premium and Standard versions of the aircraft have seen a series of fixes, new options added, and improvements to the Glider.
The Standard version is free while the Premium version adds additional features and is available for $14.99 USD.
