We’ve been waiting for a good long while now for some news on PMDG products and particularly what the status of the 737NG upgrade project that is slated to bring the company’s NG series to MSFS 2024. We have a bit of news thanks to a new video interview. Let’s have a look.

Where’s the NG!?

Sky Blue Radio on YouTube has just completed an interview with PMDG’s Robert S. Randazzo. The interview covers a bunch of topics but I want to start with the thing that people are probably most wanting to know. Where’s the NG?!

Randazzo say that the 737-800 is on track to arrive before the end of the year with the rest of the line-up expected to follow after. One or more of those may not emerge until after the new year. It’s a long wait but it does look like it might be coming to an end. Still no confirmation on what the upgrade pricing will be like for current users.

We have some confirmation that work on the 777 is essentially done though the promised audio update has not yet arrived just yet. Work on the 747 series continues with the classic variants cockpit and model work reportedly almost complete. Programming on the -400 on the other hand is apparently ahead of the classic so there’s still something of a race on to see which arrives at the finish line first though he seems to suggest that it will probably be summertime before we see the full slate of 747.

The 737 MAX appears to still be in the mix though it may not come until after the 747 with the way he was talking.

  1. I have the PMDG 737-600 and it’s very nicely done. Might try it out again today.
