The Lancair Legacy is the subject of A2A Simulations next aircraft project. The small kit-built aircraft offers an exciting high performance GA airplane to fly coupled with the developers well known Accu-Sim technology.

Get ready for the Legacy

Announced today and expected to release Q2 2026, A2A will be bringing the Legacy RG550 to Microsoft Flight Simulator. The simulation is based on a real world RG550 owned by A2A founder Scott Gentile which means that the developer will be able to get up close and personal with the aircraft as they have with prior projects.

The Accu-Sim 2.0 technology that underpins the aircraft means it will have its own custom physics, detailed engine model, bespoke sound design, persistent wear and tear system with an ownership modeling system, multiple avionics systems, a custom G5 simulation (also coming to the earlier aircraft in the A2A series), laser scanned modeling for the aircraft’s visuals.

Stay tuned for more information from A2A!

  1. Interesting to see that they use tape for the photogrammetry scan. I guess that it’s because the surfaces are mostly uniform and shiny or transparent. So they only scan most parts to get the shape and then add the material texture separately later.
