We get fewer updates from IndiaFoxtEcho on their DCS World products than we see with Microsoft Flight Simulator, however, back two days ago we got a new update from the developer on both of their major DCS World projects. Let’s see how things are going with both!

G.91 makes progress

IndiaFoxtEcho report that they are going back over their DCS: G.91 project and updating the 3D modeling saying that the project will have the most detail of any project that the company has produced to date.

The new approach means that even more detailed subsystem simulation, down to individual components, will take more time to implement. They do say that they have started to integrate the code in the cockpit. That does tend to be a significant milestone for any DCS World project so here’s hoping that it leads to a solid end result.

No release window is currently available for the project. It does sound like the project has taken a few steps back to ultimately take several more forward. This is not unusual for a lot of DCS projects from what I’ve read over the years and IndiaFoxtEcho remain a relatively transparent group when it comes to their development goals.

The below screenshots show off how the project was looking back in January. Already looking good but apparently taking on even more detail. Patience always necessary with a DCS project and this one continues on.

The team do suggest too that a MSFS version of the G.91 is planned as well which makes sense as MSFS marketplace items tend to attract large sales, even on niche aircraft.

MB-339 improvements

The biggest change for the DCS: MB-339 is updating the radio system so that it can finally take advantage of the native VOIP system that Eagle Dynamics have been working on. They report that it was a substantial effort to reorganize the avionics and that the process is complete, tested and likely in the next update.

Here’s the change log:

* Added: Long PTT press for VOIP, short PTT press for COMM menu

* Fixed: VOIP shows four radios instead of two

* Fixed: Backgroud CDU brightness

DCS: MB-339 updates are happening alongside the G.91 though the developer says that completing the G.91 is currently the focus.

  2. I wonder if IndiaFoxtEcho will do an M-346 Master for DCS one day? It seems like a logical step because they seem have experience working on it for MSFS. I’m talking probably years after the release of the Fiat G.91.
